Larry Dean Adams, 64, of Amarillo died Friday, Sept. 20, 2013.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Arden Road Baptist Church with the Rev. Dale Bigham officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.

Larry was born Sept. 20, 1949, in Pampa to Floyd and Mabel Adams. He attended Pampa High School, graduating in 1969. He then attended Draughon’s Business College before enlisting in the Air Force on Feb. 18, 1971. He was honorably discharged on May 9, 1974.

Larry married Cathy Davis on April 6, 1979, in Amarillo. He worked as a supermarket manager at Piggly Wiggly, Furrs and Albertsons for many years. He then went to work at Terminix for more than 10 years, retiring in 2011.

Larry loved to watch NASCAR and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He enjoyed cooking, working in his yard and shooting at his shooting range. He and Cathy have been members of Arden Road Baptist Church for more than six years.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Richard Lee Adams.

Survivors include his wife, Cathy Adams of Amarillo; two daughters, Belinda VanOwen and husband Kenneth of Lee’s Summit, Mo., and Kim Robinson of Amarillo; two brothers, Bobby Adams and wife Linda of Pampa and Kenneth Adams and wife Linda of Okmulgee, Okla.; a sister, Patsy Bright and husband Bobby of Pampa; and five grandchildren, Sasha Nugent, Zachary Hall, Brianne Nugent, Kara VanOwen and Kaleb VanOwen.

The family suggests memorials be made to the youth ministry at Arden Road Baptist Church, 6701 Arden Road, Amarillo, TX 79109.
