I know that everyone will feel the same way, Becky has such a special place in my memories. She and I have actually kept in touch over the last few years through our business. She was such a class act whether in business or walking through one of the hardest times that anyone could have to endure. I never was with her that she wasn't expressing her gratitude for what God had done in her life. Such a brave and beautiful Christian mother, wife and friend. I will always remember her beautiful smile which I know was just a reflection of Christ in her life.

Becky's funeral was this week. I guess that makes it real. But it is hard to realize she won't be checking on me. She did that often; calling , writing... saying just checking on you. Then she would laugh and catch me up on Robbie. Memories...over fifty years . I know it seems strange to say they were all good but they were . Never a rift, never an argument. That doesn't happen often in friendships but it did with ours. How lucky was I!!

Someday Robbie, Becky and I will get to sit and catch up.

My memories of Becky go back to the summer of '65 when we had a brief teenage romance. She was the first girl that I ever went parking with. It was a double date of sorts; Robbie Hendrix and Hal Keyser were in the back seat. When it came time to head back to town, we got stuck in the mud. Thankfully some other parkers in a nearby car came to our rescue and helped us get going again.

Our brief romance ended when Becky moved to Red River, New Mexico at the end of the summer. She moved back to Pampa about a year later. We never re-kindled our romance, but remained friends.

I was hoping to see Becky at our 40th reunion so we could laugh once again about getting stuck in the mud.

I just now found this site and learned for the first time of Becky's passing.

I banked at the bank she worked in and talked with her several times there.  She was a delightful person and always had a smile on her face.

One of the last times we talked, we laughed pretty hard about her being the first girl I ever kissed. We were in the first grade at Lamar elementary.  I snuck in a quick one on her cheek.  The next thing I knew I was on my back being pummeled by a lot of feet hanging from the very crowded merry-go-round above me. Becky had responded to my romantic advance with a quick shove.

Here's to you Becky.  I hope you don't mind me blowing you this kiss.

Dear Sweet Becky;  It has almost been two years since your passing.  Since that time I have sat as a pastor beside many others who were waiting their time to go and there have not been many who were braver than you.  Whenever we spoke you always lifted me with your enthusiasm about life regardless of your suffering - yes, you pastored to the pastor.  I told you that you would be healed someday and you were.  We talked about the only promises in life - they being birth, life, and death - and of we humans not being of this world since God knew us before we were in the womb and knowing us when we stand before him after death.  What a glorious time that will be when we hear our Lord tell us, "Well done good and faithful servant; come and share the feast I have prepared for you."  I am certain yo uahve already heard that and are now enjoying your celestial life.  I miss our conversations and will always think of you often - your strength, dedication to life, and your tremendous faith.  Bless your memory, my dear sister.

Your brother in Christ,

Dewey
