I am glad I got to see him at the reunion and at Homecoming where we went to the game and had breakfast the next morning for a good visit. Charlie was a great guy and Fraternity brother. I'll always remember his smile and laugh.

I remember Charles (back then I knew him as "Charles", not "Charlie") as being somewhat shy and soft-spoken in high school.  Then when I saw him at reunions several decades later he had developed a very out-going pesonality.  If there was a vote for the classmate who had changed the most, I would have voted for him.

It was the summer of 1968.  Charlie had just bought a convertible.  Top down and we took off at break neck speed on a drive over to Lake Meredith.  A couple of Texas Panhandle James Deans.   Great memories also of Charlie and my parents taking us kids on camping trips to the Junebug Campground in Red River.

The good thing is that the memories live as long as we want them to live.  See you soon and forever Charlie.   ... "Dont be afraid, just believe". Mark 5:36
