Karmen Hampton (Hill Gray)

Karmen (Hampton) Hill Gray, age 62, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2013, at her home in Denton, TX, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Pampa, TX, on June 13, 1951. She graduated Pampa High School in 1969. She married Michael Hill on June 7, 1969, and was married to him until his death in 2003. She married Dennis Gray on September 9, 2009, and was married to him until his death in 2010. Karmen worked for most of her life as a medical billing coder and/or office manager. She was an adoring mother and served as a 4-H leader for several years. Karmen was retired and spent the past two years caring for her cherished granddaughter.

Karmen is preceded in death by her parents, J.L. and Lois (Cain) Hampton; her husband of 33 years, Michael Hill; and her husband of 1 year, Dennis Gray.

Karmen is survived by her two children, Kelly Hill Nymeyer and her husband Michael of Denton, TX; John Hill and his wife Melyssa of Amarillo, TX; her granddaughter Maven Nymeyer; her sister Helen Whittle and her husband Larry of Yukon, OK; her brother Jim Hampton and his wife Brenda of Howardwick, TX; her nieces and nephews; her special friend Bill Lane of Denton, TX; and many other relatives and friends.

A celebration honoring her life will be held at the VFW Hall at 1401 SW 8th Ave in Amarillo, TX, on Saturday, August 3, 2013, at 6:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

I remember Karmen....sooo neat hair and clothes. I remember when I complimented her on her very neat hair she told me her mother was an beautician and practiced on her dailey. She was sooo shy but kind and accommodating. Again it has been many years....such a nice unforgettable person.
