My memories of Mike go all the way back to playing on the same youth baseball team (Cabot) as 12-year-olds.  The team was coached Mike's dad, Bill, who was an excellent role model.  When in later years I coached my own kids' baseball teams, I often thought to myself:  "What would Bill Stephens do?"

Mike and I also played football together at PHS.  He was a 140-pound ball of fire on the football field.

Great memories of a great guy to grow up with and run around with.
