Nobuhiro, just remember him as being very quiet and shy, but would smile at you ever so slightly when you spoke to him. Wonder what happened to you my friend? Rest well and know that you are remembered.

Hiro could always make me smile - in the way he was so quiet and shy yet very eager to participate in all things Harvester. I am shocked and saddened to see his name here along with so many others that I did not know had passed on. RIP, Hiro.

My main memory of Hiro is a story told by Gene Key about their trip home from the airport after picking him up. Gene was talking to him like a regular American teenager, inserting "you know" at least once in every sentence. Finally, Nobuhiro spoke up and said, No, I don't know."

Hiro offered me a Japanese delicacy - thin, dried seaweed that came in small celophane packets. It turned into a gooey mush in your mouth, and I wasn't too wild about it. Yet, he had such a hopeful look each time he offered me one of those packets, I couldn't resist taking it. He was a person you didn't want to disappoint.
