I moved to the downtown San Antonio area in Nov 2019--a renovated home. I love walking around the city, along the river, and to the missions; I also volunteer at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts, attend lectures with Oasis Lifelong Learning, and serve as a board member for my local Friends of the Library.

Retired as of 1 July 2018, after almost 24 years at the Defense Language Institute English Language Center (637th TRG).

After managing the English program at Yokosuka Ship Repair Facility, Japan (2009-2014), I returned to DLIELC to work 3.5 more years as a supervisor and teacher trainer to ESL instructors. I was able to go overseas two more times, Saudi Arabia for 6 weeks in 2016 and Tajikistan for 1 week in 2018. I've also worked in Hungary, Slovakia, Albania, Kazakhstan, Romania, Germany, Argentina, and Puerto Rico, teaching English to international military personnel with DLI.
