"Big" Jim Hollis. It is hard to believe you are gone. Bless you and the memories we shared.

I found a death record for a Jim Edward Hollis that was born January 10, 1951 and he died Ocotober 31, 1986. Since he died in Harris County, he was either living in the Houston area or died of cancer at MD Anderson...

I knew Jim best from 7th-9th grade football. He and I both played end, and he was one solid player. I know he was a solid person in his all-too-short life. I will think about him when we are all together in Pampa for the reunion.

Yes, Jann, he had cancer and was in Houston. I worked with his sister-in-law for 16 years at Bell Helicopter in Amarillo.

Jim and I were buddies from 1st grade. He was one of the best basketball players to graduate PHS. He hit 139 free throws in a row in practice one day. He was a great guy.I still see some of his family in my practice. His mom died a few years ago. She was such a sweet lady. Maybe Katrina will be at the reunion. Jay Johnson

I never really knew Jim - But I sure loved that smooth jumper from the corner. I am very sorry to learn that he is gone.

Jim and his family lived across the street from me all through school. He was always a very kind person, even when Katrina and I kept tagging after him. He was one of those people you just enjoyed being around. His mother was like a second mother to me. We had some great times on Coffee Street!

JIM AND I WERE REALLY CLOSE ALL OF OUR YEARS GROWING UP TOGETHER. AFTER HIM AND BRENDA (HIS WIFE) MOVED DOWN TO THE HOUSTON AREA AROUND 1970, MONTEY MOVED ME AND OUR TWO KIDS DOWN HERE IN 1976. HE AND MONTEY WORKED FOR THE SAME COMPANY WHEN HE GOT SICK AND WAS DIAGOSED WITH CANCER. THAT WAS A DARK TIME. HE WAS SO STRONG FOR A FEW WEEKS BUT NEVER MADE IT OUT OF MD ANDERSON. WE ALWAYS HUNG OUT TOGETHER HERE AND I HAVE THOSE MEMORIES FOREVER.

I was in elementry school with Jim. After highschool I lost touch with him.  I was shocked to read that he had passed away in 1986.  So young.
